Fossetcon is not a GNU/Linux conference, nor is it a *BSD conference. Fossetcon can be more described as a *nix(Unix like) conference that focuses primarily on Free and Open Source Software and the systems that run it - whether it be hardware or software.
We are calling all FOSS, FLOSS and OSS Developers, Students, Teachers, Systems Administrators, Hardware Hackers, Enthusiasts, Newbies and Trolls(trolls need love too) to come out and participate in Fossetcon 2014 in Orlando, FL.
Fossetcon aims to provide the community with the needed resources of training, knowledge and collaborative efforts to aid our community in all of our endeavours. If you're looking to elevate your career path or even get access to free training and certifications then we are willing to provide it. We're looking for speakers, volunteers and hackers to help engage our communities by providing a venue full of like minded individuals.
Expect Fossetcon to be a FUN event full of diverse people, forward thinkers and great companies that all contribute to free software and the communities surrounding it.
Fossetcon 2014 is a 3 day event that has the following format:
Day 0 Thursday:
Day 1 Friday:
Day 2 Saturday:
Day 0 starts off on September 11, 2014 with a Complimentary Breakfast and coffee for all of the attendees. Day 0 is solely for tutorials, workshops, training sessions and certification exam crams. Several sessions will last for approximately 1-3 hours each; breaking for Complimentary Lunch and ending in the evening.
Day 1, Friday September 12, 2014 also with a Complimentary Breakfast and coffee for all of the attendees. The opening Keynote begins shortly after breakfast is over, which you definitely shouldn't miss! The Expo Hall featuring approx 50 exhibitors, opens after the keynote as well as the other speaker sessions held on 6 different topic tracks.
There will be periodic refreshment breaks served in the Expo Hall.
Fossetcon's scheduled sessions end with the closing keynote speech, but Birds of a Feather sessions will continue to be held throughout the night.
